Thanks to my friend Amit, I attended one of the Brasserie Supperclub dinners. Located out in the sunset district we both made the trek out to this new Vegan dinner spot run by three ex-Vegan chefs looking to open their own restaurant. As many of you know I am not vegan, nor vegetarian by any stretch. In fact I have been known to squeeze meat in at any meal possible.
After the 5 courses, including dessert, I was completely surprised by my satiation and the fantastic flavors of all the plates. The photo above is not from the meal I had with them but from a meal they had a few weeks back. I hate to admit I can’t remember much of what I ate but it was all really tasty. Some eggplant, a consumme a buritto/wrap entree and a fruity dessert left me in a vegan food coma. This meal turned my tune on vegan food for sure. Now, if more of the vegan restaurants could take a page from Brasserie’s book it might wind up as a very viable option when considering restaurants.
