This was my best meal in Paris. What does that say about me? About Paris? I won’t even go there. Let’s just say €20 for this heaping plate of tasty. turkey and lamb mixed shwarma dominates the plate accompanied by a simple ice berg salad, cucumber and tomato salad, hummus and roasted eggplant. The finish is a handful of fresh cut fries. Everyone who visits the Marais in Paris seems to land here and with good reason. The line in the street for take out speaks for itself. Once inside the table space is limited but they turn them fast. Israelis are aggressive and direct. We like that. Tables are bused and reset immediately and the turn over is orchestrated like a heavy metal symphony. Price, taste and efficiency, an oasis for me in Paris. You will most likely visit the Marais neighborhood so be sure to make L’As Du Fallafel a lunch stop. opt for teh sit down so you can watch the magic.
