This is definitely in my top 3 days on a cruise ship. It is my first time in Vietnam and we port in Nha Trang. We really didn’t know what to do but we had a map and some possibilities. One of the things on the list was to go to a day spa. When we left the ship we got bombarded by guys that wanted to be our taxi. We finally settled with a guy for $10 to take us to the spa. Some how he took us to the 2nd thing we wanted to do which was to go see these towers that were built in the 7th century. We figured, well, were here, we mine as well see them. The taxi stayed with us for the rest of the day. He later took us to the spa and waited outside for the next 4 hours for us.
The spa was amazing and just the right price. We went with the total day package with an hour message. That means mud bath, hot spring, hour message, a steam room, a mineral pool with waterfall, and heated pool. It was perfect! Total price per person was $20…..yep, that is not misspelled, I didn’t forget a 0…..$20. I made a video of the day. The spa is called Nha Tran – Thap Ba Hot Spring Center and I wish we were hitting that port again. What an amazing experience.
While at the spa we got some lunch and sat out but the pool in the blazing sun. I always go a little over board when ordering food but it was so worth it. Between 3 of us we got a seafood hot pot, seafood spring rolls, Vegetable and chicken fried noodle dish, and linguini in flat noodles and 2 fresh juices. Just before we were about to say that’s it, I ordered the brazed chicken in coconut milk. As it turns out that brazed chicken was the best thing we ate. I wish I orderd 2 or 3 of them. The sauce was outstanding. Possibly the best sauce I had ever tasted. It was not just coconut milk but there was curry and it was think and creamy. The chicken was really tender, fall off the bone tender. The other food was great as well. Everything we ate was delicious.
What an amazing day. The spa, lunch and a taxi for the day cost us $40 per person. You can’t beat that!
