Sometimes your second choice turns out to be great. Let me tell you what happened. My friends and I arrived in Victoria wanting more of Ferris Oysterbar because we loved it so much. When we got there the wait was one hour. I asked the lady what we should do because there was no room at the bar for us to sit and have a drink while we waited. So I suggested she take our names and we would be back in about 40 minutes. She would not take our name. She basically wanted a group of six to wait on the staircase (you have to walk up stairs to get to the restaurant) for the hour until something opened up. A little annoyed and frustrated we left and went for a drink at a place down the block called Sauces. Sauces is a cool bar/restaurant with a good drink menu. After an hour and a drink or two we headed back to Ferris.
It was still packed and we decided to make a reservation for the following week. We decided to go back to Sauces and have dinner. The menu was good and was not sure what the food was going to be like since it is a bar/restaurant. I ordered the short rib sandwich with onions and Kelsey ordered the chicken strips. When mine came it was open faced and thought to myself, this is not a full sandwich. Where was the top piece of bread?
To my surprise the open face sandwich was spectacular. I hardly wanted to share my food. I tried one of Kelsey’s chicken strips and I have to say I think they were the best chicken strips I have ever had. They were so juicy and lightly battered. All my friends were all very happy with there meals.
In the end we still had a great time and a great meal. Sometime when you have to pull an audible things do work out.
