Last week Jay, Kelsey and I stumbled upon a Hooka Bar at 1am in St. Petersburg after sight seeing all day. The sun was just about to go down when we went in. We had a great relaxing 2-3 hours of hookah, beer and what else Vodka. When we left the sun had already been rising.

This week I grabbed a few friends and when back. However, this time we went for an early dinner. Last time we didn’t eat anything and I have to say that was a first for Jay and I. After my second experience I have to say Jay missed out on some really good Indian food.

There were 4 of us and we immediately got a hookah for the table. However, this was no ordinary Hooka, this one had a giant apple carved out with tobacco in it. The bottom was filled with a red wine. It was called: Forty Robbers – Water-pipe on red wine will wake up a spirit of adventurism in you (Tobacco: grape, jasmine, plum – all in a real apple cup). That Apple cup was the biggest apple I have ever seen. Mmmmm, so good and different. I never wanted to stop smoking it… that is unless I was putting beer or Indian food in my mouth. Oh, the Hooka also came with 2 plates for fresh fruits and 2 bowels of assorted nuts. You got to love that!

The beer was flowing and we got a few rounds of beers we had never heard of before. Two from Germany, mainly because Germans know how to make REALLY good beer and one interesting beer from Switzerland. The German beers were both light beers. Oh, BTW, on English menus in Russia they spell beer “BEAR”

Grotwerg – 5.3% alcohol, Light hopped bitterness with fruit notes, thick foam and transparent light amber.
Liebenweiss – 5.5% alcohol, Wheaten, unfiltered and Light.
Hanfblute – 5% alcohol, unfiltered, light, with extract of hemp leaves

Yes folk, there is hemp in the beer. The Swiss beer (Hanfblute) had such a good and different taste. My favorite of the 3.

Ok so enough with the substances that can alter my mind. The Food!, was forking tasty. I’m going to say this is an all around forking tasty favorite. I still can’t believe we didn’t order food the 1st time but here it is. I got an order of Samos (aka Samosa) and a kebab plate of soy meat in wine sauce. I was in heaven being that Indian food is my second favorite cuisine. Listen to these ingredients and let your mouth water.

Samos – Indian cakes – 2 cakes of tender dough stuffed with vegetables mushrooms, spinach, and cottage cheese.
Kebab – Pieces of soy meat marinated with white wine sauce and red onions strung on a brochette with home cheese, mushrooms, vegetables and fried potato slices. The kebab is served with tomato sauce in grapefruit with white grapes and fresh verdure.

I can’t tell you how much I am dying to go back next week and try other things on the menu. Here are all the pics in one lil package

  3. Assis Stantjob Says:

I was just speaking to my baby sister in relation to this the other day. I also seen something on that over at the hope web page. Isnt it odd how these things show up in groups. to be candid, it is kind of creepy.

  4. Fleece Blanket Says:

This blanket doubles as a sleeping sack for warm weather camping. The excellent of the blanket is commendable and it is made attractive. The lightweight alternative is provided by the fleece or nylon. Keep it safe or else you will discover the animals sleeping over it. It’s not allergic as opposed to quite a few synthetic sleeping bags. This protects you from the dew as well.
