We’ve been seeing this in many styles, designs and mediums and think it’s pretty right on. Maybe that’s my poutine loving wife’s influence but this rhyme is far better than some of the crass copy us boys throw around at happy hour. Also, if the Fries Before Guys T-Shirt is the flag woman start waving these days it beats the “Diamonds are a girls best friend” mantra of the 80’s. I’ll buy deep fried spuds for her all day everyday. I know, diamonds are still a “thing” but a man can dream right?
So, we have a thing for pizza. Not only do we love to eat that crispy crust, bubbling cheese and aromatic triple meat topping BUT, we’ll wear it on our lapel. Jen Adrion and Omar Noory make lots of perfect little, delicious items. None more satisfyingly cute than this pizza pin. Their website does tons of explaining on who they are, their Ohio studio details, what they have done (and it’s a lot) and where you can get their stuff. Aside from their creative excellence the seemingly obsessive use of ™ and ® is fantastic. As in their tagline, WE MAKE THINGS™. The line YOU LOVE THINGS™. Or, as in this mantra, These Are Things®. Whether truly trademarked or registered, the inside joke or official-ness is welcomed. Plus, they have cats that are dope based on their Insta.
We are Arial font fanatics. This meme, trend…what ever it is…speaks to us every time we see it. Last week in New Orleans we discovered the perfect rendition. The Crawfish Boil T-Shirt turns the typical equation version of this trend into a recipe. It made us stop and think just how simple great food is. I suppose this also helps if there’s too much pre-boil partying and you forget the next step. Either way, pinch and suck while you wait for this to arrive in the mail.
I’m of the philosophy that if you’re not lucky enough to be currently eating cheese, you may as well as be thinking about the next cheese you’re going to eat — a little advance preparation never hurt anyone, right? You know we have a soft spot for pizza at FTHQ. Teagan White’s “Trash Squirrel” Pin reverberated through the office after Missus Tasty found this rodent gem. Teagan has a whole series of critters doing people like things. Most of it illustrated paint on paper. That’s why this is a rare gem and probably sold out by now. There’s something about a squirrel with a slice that just screams NYC to us. Maybe given that a pizza slice is the perfect quick hit and NYers tend to move like squirrels through the streets. Either way it’s a great addition to a lapel as you hustle from meeting to meeting wrestling your fellow citizens and hunger pangs.
