Last weeks avocado heavy line up got us to reshuffle the on deck folder and surface this find. MoguMogu food puns it out with the best of them. Wear this avocardio tshirt to the gym and not only own the cardio section but, I bet you score with that avocado toast loving, upper east side, brunch bitch on the elliptical you’ve been eyeing for weeks. When we land in Montreal we head straight to Beauty’s. It doesn’t matter what day, time or reason for the visit, we always find ourselves in a booth at the famed diner in about 40 minutes after touchdown. Last weeks trip was no exception. My move is always a St-Viateur Bagel with lox, cream cheese and tomato, collectively known as the Beauty’s Special. On this visit there was a new addition, The Beauty’s Shoppe. Jumping on the merch train, and I don’t blame them, the owners enlisted, designer and illustrator, Sasha Endoh to ink some classic menu items. The Beauty’s Luncheonette Bagel T-Shirt was a no brainer for me. Sasha’s simplistic black and white design makes for an understated badge I can use on my home streets of NYC proclaiming my favorite bagel breakfast.
Good food is like gold to us. When we happened upon GoldieRox’s mash-up of these two coveted items we knew we had to share. Roxanne Rajcoomar, as she’s more formally know in the world of precious gems, made a move few people have the guts and self-awareness to call their life. After reaching the 1% in the precious jewels knowledge game, she jumped ship to feed her soul. That food just happened to be food. It’s no wonder the output from her world eating tour, getting back to her love of food, netted this Burger Locket Pendant and an equally awesome French Fry necklace. I think her old job and refound love make quite the happy meal. Judging by the package from the UK on my coffee table @MissusTasty feels the same.
A poster of meat. What more needs to be articulated about this 18” X 24” carnivorous, educational, orgy. The 2 color screen print pops off the rich, thick 100lb Cougar Natural cover stock begging to be cooked. Alas, the tooth of the paper breaks the reverie every time. The delightful bi-product is a trip to the butcher. Hanging this meat poster in the kitchen is obvious as it doubles as a reference guide but we prefer it over our bed so our porterhouse dreams are met with ribeye mornings. Yank Marc Howell and Limey Luke Paisley have a great hand. Their other designs, and apologetic company name, seems to be most fitting for their work, current design MOST poignantly included.
You know we have a soft spot for pizza at FTHQ. Teagan White’s “Trash Squirrel” Pin reverberated through the office after Missus Tasty found this rodent gem. Teagan has a whole series of critters doing people like things. Most of it illustrated paint on paper. That’s why this is a rare gem and probably sold out by now. There’s something about a squirrel with a slice that just screams NYC to us. Maybe given that a pizza slice is the perfect quick hit and NYers tend to move like squirrels through the streets. Either way it’s a great addition to a lapel as you hustle from meeting to meeting wrestling your fellow citizens and hunger pangs.
