On The House Chowder
Crab Cracker Seafood Bar – Ketchikan from Anthony Anello on Vimeo.
My last day in Alaska was a wet and cold day in Ketchikan. I decided to take a food tour and then do a walking tour around the town. I started back at Burger Queen and ordered another burger. This time got it cooked medium and it was really good. It lived up to the hype that it has been given. Looking forward to many more Burger Queen burgers when I am back here next summer. However, everyone else said I had to try the fish and chips in town. So instead of having ANOTHER burger I went searching around for some fish and chips. I found a little crab bar in a mall I walked into called the Crab Cracker Seafood Bar. There were 3 types of fish to choose from. The waitress recommended the Snapper. It was good. The chips were really good and crunchy. After talking with the waitresses they told me that it’s their chowder that they are known for. They gave me a little sample on the house. I was stuffed but when it is on the house you have to find room. It was really good. A little more liquidy then I’ve had but it was very hardy. Good stuff! Thanks for the hook up guys!
After the feast I walked and walked and found the end of a lake where there was thousands of salmon’s trying to swim up the stream. It was really cool. I have know idea how they can do it but they do. They go up waterfalls and rapids. It’s crazy. At the end of the day I was soaked. It rained so much that my umbrella was not doing much. I was walking in puddles when I wasn’t actually in puddles. It was nice to get off the ship for a while anyway. Now I’m off to Japan.
