Biggest Sushi Roll EVER!
Giant Sushi Roll in Kobe Japan from Anthony Anello on Vimeo.
Kobe Japan was an embarkation day for me on the ship, which means I work right in the middle of the day. We were fortunate to be leaving late enough for me to slip out and grab some dinner. I was on the hunt for some Japanese food. I took the train to the first main stop, got off, and looked for the first restaurant. That was not the easiest thing. However, after walking through a couple ally’s and a building I passed by this little hidden shop called Yawara that had a plastic display of their food outside. My eye was caught on this giant sushi roll. I had to go in and find out more. I sat at the sushi bar and asked for an eel roll. As they opened the window where the eel was, there it was, the biggest sushi roll EVER. I told the sushi chief to forget the eel roll, I wanted whatever that was. I think the video explains the rest. Outstanding!
On my way back to the ship, I passed a waffle house named Manneken in the train station. The smell was amazing coming out of this little shop. The line for the waffle was equally impressive. I looked in my wallet and I had no money left. So disappointed I headed up to get my ticket. Just as I was about to pay my two friends showed up and gave me the rest of their change. Super excited I ran back down to the waffle house and got a Marron and Maple Waffle. They were so fresh and good. Defiantly not the best diabetic meal that night but sometimes you have to take a couple extra units and enjoy yourself.
