A Different BLT

My colleague Will gave me a tip one of his favorite sandwich in Ketchikan, the Halibut BLT. You can find this delicious sandwich at Annebelle’s Keg and Chowder House. I took a seat at the bar and had a great experience. I am not a huge bacon fan, I know, you can wipe the shock off your face. However, the bacon with the Halibut was not very over powering and it gave the sandwich really nice flavor. I also ordered a side of their famous chowder. The chowder was good but not as good as Cheers in Boston. The nice surprise at the end was there was a piece of bacon waiting for me at the bottom smothered in chowder. What a nice surprise. Thanks Will!

Glad you enjoyed it. I remember it being pretty forking good if I can recall myself. I had the chowder as well, and agreed while it was tasty, it was not the best I’ve had. That title belongs to Duke’s (http://www.dukeschowderhouse.com/) in Seattle.

[...] a differenT blT June 3, 2010 by willias1 So,  I was up in Alaska for two weeks last month, and while I was in Ketchikan Alaska, I had the opportunity to stop in a local establishment for lunch.  The place was Annabelle’s Keg and Chowder house, and I happened to have a Alaskan Halibut BLT sandwich for lunch.  I’d describe it, but my friend Anthony over at Forking Tasty put a great review together on a great sandwich.  Enjoy the review, and even more so, an extremely enjoyable site devoted to food and different dishes to try while you travel around the world.  Quick tip, if you’re ever in Switzerland do not get the horse fondu.  Trust me.
