Grand Corona Brasserie • Paris
It’s called essential for a reason. You can’t go to Paris without having a baguette. The one to grab for is the obviously named baguette essential, a simple stack of ham, comté cheese and butter on the freshest and crispiest of breads on earth. My favorite is at Philippe Marache, a patisserie/boulangerie out in the 11th, known for their croissant. We were clued in by the wonderful Meg at Paris-By-Mouth. Pictured above is a quick hit at a brasserie just over the Seine near the Eiffel Tower. Almost as tasty. Bottomline here is – you can’t go wrong with a baguette sandwich in Paris just as long as the bread looks crispy. Go ahead, impulse buy with this one.
