Forked with Marc Levine
Marc and I met because he was my college roommates best friend. We became fast friends once we both realized each others motivations to pack as much life into life as humanely possible. If there was a person on this planet, besides myself, who could squeeze a few more minutes out of everyday just to have a little more fun, it would be Marc. His latent love of photography blossomed when reality TV exploded. A weird parallel for sure BUT Marc’s casting assignments took him around the world from Moscow to Rio to Sydney. Besides racking up frequent flier miles he racked up memories of beautiful landscapes, cultures and people. He started snapping away between castings and that eventually turned into a few shows in LA showcasing his work. These days Marc is still up to his old tricks. Whether he’s behind the landscape camera or the casting camera look out for him in a city near you. Here’s what he had to say over lunch at Iberostar Paraiso Maya in Cancun.
What do you think when i say dinnertime?
I think of steak. I think of eating out. I think of my mom cooking meals for me as a kid in the house I grew up in. I think of eating a great meal, sitting back with my bloated stomach and trying my best to digest it all down.
What is your favorite meal memory?
My favorite meal memory came from a night spent in Thailand. I had just arrived on Koh Tao along with two young and beautiful girls from Austria. It was a perfect night, with a sky full of stars, as we sat on the floor of an indoor/outdoor type restaurant right along the beach. The food was incredible, the company was amazing, I felt as free as I ever had and we were even allowed to smoke a joint right there at the table. The “desert” was incredible as well but that’s a story for a different blog entry :)…
If you could have your last meal with one person who would it be? Why?
My last meal would be with my dad and I’d ask him any and everything I never got to ask. He’s great company, an easy laugher and I’d love to try to find out any last thing I could before we said our goodbyes.
What did we eat?
A variety of all-inclusive, Mexican resort food that is neither Mexican nor that tasty.
