Forking Tasty – Da Nello – Santa Marghrita Italy from Anthony Anello on Vimeo.

A couple buddies and I were walking around Santa Marghrita looking for the perfect stop for some lunch. We literally walked around for at least an hour or two. Santa Marghrita is so small that’s all the time it took to walk the town. We stumbled upon a place called Da Nello. It was so close to my last name we had to try it out. We had an old lady that really did not know much english show us to our table which was right on the beach. I guess we are in her country, we really did not know enough Italian. She ended up being our waitress as well. After finding out that the two things we wanted on the menu they ran out of, she gave us some suggestions.
Great view of the water and what will eventually turn out to be a fantastic lunch. I’m still thinking about those mussels. Not one mussels I ate tasted fishy, they were perfect. I could have dipped bread in that wine and olive oil at the bottom of the bowel all day.

Forking Tasty – Anthony’s in San Diego from Anthony Anello on Vimeo.

I just need to ramble for a moment…You know those days when your in a rush and you want a quick bite to eat but you want that quick bite to be something you haven’t had before and you really want it to be something good because your starving, and because your starving you can’t make a decision on what to eat. Well, I had one of those days. In a mad scramble off the ship I found myself at Anthony’s Fishette, the same as Anthony’s Fish Grotto but the take out area. While running outside I remembered I was given a tip from a guest on the ship that they have the best fish tacos in San Diego. In the 20 minutes I had to run off the ship, eat and run back on the ship, I think I made the right choice under pressure conditions.

Ferris Oyster Bar – Victoria B.C. from Anthony Anello on Vimeo.

I have not been to Victoria British Columbia a lot yet. I just started my next contract on the ship and was recommended by two friends to head to Ferris’ Upstairs Oysterbar. I only have a couple of weeks left on these Alaska runs and I can’t wait to go back. Victoria is a fun little city with lots of restaurants and bars. Hope I get a chance to try as many places as I can.

In Juneau Alaska I mentioned the hit and can’t miss spot to eat is Tracy’s Crab Shack. However, a close and impressive second is the Twisted Fish. I was really impressed with the type of seafood this restaurant served. A couple unique items to mention, Coconut Salmon strips with a berry chutney and Baked Salmon in a Puffed Pastry served in a reduction sauce. I will be in Juneau again in September and I may have to have lunch and Tracy’s and then dinner in the Twisted Fish. I have to admit, for a while there I was not to impressed with the restaurants in Juneau but I have found a couple gems.

Lunch in Dalian China from Anthony Anello on Vimeo.

My first time in China and we sailed to Dalian. This is one of the larger cities in China. It is modern, but also has the local down an ally markets. There was a lot of food to try in the markets but some things were so dirty that I didn’t have the stomach to try it. Lot’s of dust and flies all over the food. I did want to go into a traditional Chinese restaurant and have some lunch and that is just want my friends and I did. Enjoy the video.

Crab Cracker Seafood Bar – Ketchikan from Anthony Anello on Vimeo.

My last day in Alaska was a wet and cold day in Ketchikan. I decided to take a food tour and then do a walking tour around the town. I started back at Burger Queen and ordered another burger. This time got it cooked medium and it was really good. It lived up to the hype that it has been given. Looking forward to many more Burger Queen burgers when I am back here next summer. However, everyone else said I had to try the fish and chips in town. So instead of having ANOTHER burger I went searching around for some fish and chips. I found a little crab bar in a mall I walked into called the Crab Cracker Seafood Bar. There were 3 types of fish to choose from. The waitress recommended the Snapper…

The Barking Crab – Newport R.I. from Anthony Anello on Vimeo.

I recently jumped on the Eurodam to visit Kelsey for a few days. I got on in New York and left in Boston. On the way we stopped by Newport Road Island. We wanted to go check out a few mansions that day but got caught up on the ship and only have a few hours to play in Newport. We walked around town a bit and found the Barking Crab. It’s been a while since Kelsey ripped into some crabs so we thought it would be fun.

My favorite place to eat sushi in Manhattan just happens to be across the street from my apartment. Iron sushi is a staple in my book when it comes to eating in New York. First off, there is Denise, who will great you when you come in but if your lucky you may be singing his own form of karaoke with you at dinner. You will have to go and find out what I mean.

It’s been years since I went down to visit my friends down in Maryland. I decided to rent a car and head down for a weekend to catch up. Of course we got hungry so you know what they say… when in Maryland… eat crabs. So we did. Actually we had all you can eat crabs in a place called Steamers.
