Sometimes Mother Nature causes for a cruise ship to go off the regular itinerary. In this case it had been raining so much that we could not leave Quebec City and sail to Montreal because the water level was way to high and we could not fit the ship under power lines about 10 miles from the port in Montreal. This caused for a double over night in Quebec City. This is the second week in a row that this has happened. Which means dinners out in town….

One of the things that is great when you’re a crew member on a ship is when you stay at a port overnight. This will allow some of the crew to go out to dinner, which is rare on cruises. We had an overnight in Quebec City, which has a lot of restaurants. I walked around town a little early that day, around 3pm, to scout out and ask some local shop owners about there favorite restaurants in town and the most authentic restaurants. I had a few places that were mentioned a couple of times and they were not to far from the ship. I rounded up a couple people and off we went.

Kelsey and I wanted to check out a Museum while in Quebec and got out early. The museum had an exhibit were you stand in a box that looks like a room in your house and it shakes to show you what an earthquake would feel like. Both of us live on the east coast so we have never felt a quake before. They let you feel the shake of a category 4, 5 and then 7…

Kelsey and I wanted to take it easy tonight with dinner and found this nice little outside restaurant called Bistro Sous Le Fort. We ordered an appetizer, main and desert and shared it. Our waiter was a funny guy and kept us on our toes all night. There was a party going on at the apartment across the street from the restaurant. They were hanging out the windows singing American 80’s music. Sounded like a cool party…

I was checking out a guidebook that I picked up at the airport for some good breakfast while in Quebec City. There was a place called Au Petit Coin Breton that said it was a Pancake Restaurant. So I was expecting some great big fluffy American pancakes, but no. In French Canadian land a pancake is a crepe.s…

It was a holiday weekend and I headed up to Quebec City to meet Kelsey for 3 days. The Eurodam had a rare double over night and we took advantage. Quebec City is a fun little town with lots of restaurants, galleries, bars, clubs, a huge fort, and a lot of shopping. It was a beautiful day to just walk around town and there are all these café and bistros with outside seating…
