It’s been hectic this week to say the least. Between ramping up for this Saturday’s REEL TASTY and next weeks special Vegas dinners there has not been much time to breath let alone eat. Before I jump back into the fray I wanted to share a little home cooked goodness I prepared 2 weeks ago just before the task waves started crashing against my backyard. I came across this tasty gem as I was flipping between MS Word and Photoshop this morning. It’s not my Mother-in-law’s recipe but quite delicious. It reminded me of a quieter time where home cooked delicious food has that ability to mellow you out and focus you on the moment, the bite and the company. If you’re to-do list isn’t 2 miles long maybe it’s a good night to whip something up instead of order in. If you can, I envy you. For now.

Everyone did something different while Irene passed through the Tri-State area. No matter what was there is one thing we all did the same. Eat. Some of us cracked open our overstock of Spaghetti O’s and others held paella parties. Which ever end of the spectrum you fall we’d love to hear your hurricane dinner choice.

I finally made it to Fiji. This was one of the ports I was really looking forward to when I got on the Volendam. I have seen pictures of how beautiful Fiji is and was looking forward to an absolute paradise. We ended up going to the First Landing Resort that day. Nothing to special about the beach, water or the food! There has got to be a better part of Fiji. Oh well, next time….

Ahhhh Bali

Ahhhh Bali, what a beautiful place to be with friends. It was our first beach port in a while. A bunch of us decided to head to the Ramacandidasa Resort and Spa about 15 minutes away. It was perfect, it had a pool, the beach, a restaurant and it was a perfect sunny day. We got some color and a few drinks by the pool to start the day. I took it upon myself to go check out the menu. After a few hours we ordered a fantastic Indonesian lunch and shared it family style. As we sat by the pool we ate and ate and ate. Not to shabby…
