Flights Of Beer On Top Of A Mountain

I will be spending the next couple months in Alaska and plan on covering restaurants all around Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and Vancouver. First stop in Alaska was Juneau. Juneau is a small town, much like all towns in Alaska. Right at the port there is a tram that takes you up Mount Roberts. There are a few trails to hike up there along with a restaurant. Lunch In A Whore House

Skagway Alaska is a small town that looks like a scene from the old west. If you took out the few roads that make up the town and put in dirt with some tumble weed I think I would have to bring my 6 shooter to go get some lunch. After walking through the town in about 5 minutes I ended up at the Red Onion Saloon. The Red Onion Saloon was Skagway’s most exclusive bordello back in the day. It was a bar on the bottom floor but the top floor had 10 small rooms where the ladies waited for business…

My last day in Alaska was a wet and cold day in Ketchikan. I decided to take a food tour and then do a walking tour around the town. I started back at Burger Queen and ordered another burger. This time got it cooked medium and it was really good. It lived up to the hype that it has been given. Looking forward to many more Burger Queen burgers when I am back here next summer. However, everyone else said I had to try the fish and chips in town. So instead of having ANOTHER burger I went searching around for some fish and chips. I found a little crab bar in a mall I walked into called the Crab Cracker Seafood Bar. There were 3 types of fish to choose from. The waitress recommended the Snapper…

Alaska Burger

On my last contract on the ship a buddy and I were talking about the best burgers we’ve had. He mentioned to look for a burger in Ketchikan Alaska called Burger Queen. Now I am on the Volendam and the beginning of my contract is in Alaska and I finally made it there. Ketchikan is a small little town, as most Alaskan towns and are known for their salmon. However, I was looking for that burger. I’ll get the salmon next week when I’m here again.
