Our last restaurant before heading out of Charleston was at Poogan’s Porch. Poogan is a dog that lived at the restaurant and passed away. They even have a statue of Poogan in the front yard.

They say Poogan’s Porch is haunted. People have said that while eating they have had something brush up against their legs. The ghost of Poogan still roams the restaurant. There is also a woman that has been seen there. A woman went to the bathroom during dinner and was washing her hands and looked up at the mirror and saw an older women standing behind her. When she turned around to say something to her there was no one there. She continued to wash her hands and looked up again and saw her again. She turned and she was not there again. The lady freaked out and ran out of the restaurant screaming. It took three people to get her to come back into the restaurant. Spooky stuff.

We did not experience any of the haunting’s but Poogan’s Porch did put out some killer food. The southerner had a shrimp po’ boy and I had a fried pork chop sandwich with green tomato pico de gallo and pimiento cheese spread. It was delicious and huge. I took half of it home and ate it before my flight the next day. I couldn’t let that go to waste. It was way to good.
