After a few weeks with out being in an American port we finally made it to San Diego. I was not sure what to do that day; it had been years since I was there last. I bumped into some friends from the ship on my way out and they were headed over to Coronado Island. I joined them for the little ferry ride over. We were all looking for some lunch. Coronado Island is beach town and it is very beautiful there. We took the trolley around the town and ended up at The Sun Deck Bar and Grill. I believe it is part of the Hotel Del Coronado. It sat outside over looking the beach. There is a walk up restaurant that had just what I was looking for, burgers. I hadn’t had one in a really long time. Bing that I was in California I really wanted to an In & Out or Carl Jr. burger but I couldn’t find one. The Sun Deck Bar and Grill make a pretty good burger and I was satisfied even without my In & Out or Carl Jr. I substituted the fries for some coleslaw, which was a great choice. It had just the right amount of mayo. The burger was cooked just right with shredded lettuce and a good pickle. It was nice to be back in America having an American cheeseburger.

Mark and stayed at the Hotel del Coronado a few years ago and ate at the same place…every resturant in that hotel was fabulous.

That Hotel is Beautiful. I wish I could have spent a few nights there.
