The other day I headed to Long Island for an over night stay at the parents house. I had a few things to do and I had not been to their house in a while. Whenever I go home during the summer my mother and I take the day to run some errands and go to lunch, a little mom and Ant time. We went to Fanatico for a couple salads. We were thinking of keeping it light and healthy and their salads are really good and filling. However, the healthy thing went out the window when my mother brought up the Chicken Marsala Roll. Mom said it was great but I wanted to keep it healthy..... I caved very easily. It was really good and I could not finish it all because of the big salad. I should have started with the Chicken Marsala Roll. The taste was delicious and had the right amount of chicken and sauce. Pizzeria's should make these. They make chicken parm rolls.

The Southerner and I had a tough morning trying to figure out the perfect place for a Brunch/Lunch. The first place we thought of was to far away, the next place was BYOB, the next place was cash only, ugh! We decided to head to Il Bambino which you may remember from our Wich Hunt episode 2. We finally both agreed and were off and we were starving. Then all of a sudden on our way to lunch we hit a street fair....

I have just returned to the states and I was a little groggy from all the travel. All I wanted was a sandwich and there are many places I could go to get a great sandwich but I am known to make may own sandwiches. I love my sandwiches and they are usually better than most I buy...

Low Carb Pizza

I made pizza the other day that was low in carbs. The trade off it is basically made of cheese so it is high in fat. I used Almond Flower to make my crust with a little baking powder and a brick of Mozzerella. Yes, a brick and that was just for the crust. I melted the shredded cheese and added the rest. Mixing it was a workout. My arms were feeling it and I probably burnt off some calories before the feast....

Ribs At A Gas Station

Yep, that is right folks. Not only can you get rediculous ribs at Rudy's but you get get some gas there also. This place is amazing. The menu is short and sweet and you order everything by the pound. I ordered a half pound of baby backs, pork spare and St. Louis ribs. I couldn't help myself, it was so much fun just to order the food by weight. I also got their sausage. I figured I'm already in for a pound and a half of meat whats another half pound. They have a huge smoker where they cook all their meats. There are a bunch of Rudy's around but I think the one in Frisco TX is the only one with the gas station. This is a Texas staple and a must go....

Texas Is All Texas

Just want to send a quick post. I have been traveling a bunch, what else is new, and I was in a hotel in Texas for breakfast before heading to work. I ordered an omelet at the omelet station. Before he was finished making my western omelet I noticed he had a waffle iron. The last homemade waffle I had was on the ship. They always made perfectly round and crispy waffles. With that in mind, I ended up ordering one. When he put it on my plate I couldn't believe the shape. Only in Texas! Oh and yes, they go big in Texas, I could only finish southern Texas. I wish he put the waffle on my plate so Texas was facing the right way.

I have recently been in Cincinnati and my co workers and I were headed to the Red and Giants game on a rainy Tuesday night. We decided to get some food before the game instead of eating hot dogs all night. We stopped off at Local 127 and was not sure what we were getting into but there was a giant pig in the middle of the restaurant. That is always a good sign.

This morning I woke up with a craving for a burger. I have not had one in a while and it is typically a staple in my food regiment. I was by myself for the day and wanted to go to a spot in my neighborhood that I've always wanted to want try but never get a chance to go. We all have a place like that in our neighborhood. Today was my day to go after it. The place I am referring to is Petey's Burgers. I am glad I finally got off my butt and made it there....

I had some work in Minneapolis recently and after a long day the team decided on steaks for dinner. Murray's is one of the more known steak houses as well as one of the last family owned in the twin cities. Our waitress was wonderful, she has been there 40 years and her husband who is the butcher has been there 35 years. That is a long time of delicious beef. The team and I indulged into a few appetizers before we ordered our steaks. Shrimp wrapped in bacon, escargot, and mac & cheese followed by caesar salads...
