Maybe The Best Chicken Ever

I recently took some time to explore a city I have not been to before, Dublin Ireland. Surprisingly with all the places I have been to in Europe, Dublin somehow was missed. My experience was like a typical tourist staying in Temple Bar and drinking loads of Guinness. The Guinness IS better in Dublin by the way. You'll just have to go to find out what I mean. My hotel was above a night club and I just happen to be put on the 1st floor. Thursday through Saturday the club is rockin' on until 3:30 am so there was no going to my hotel room to sleep anytime before 3:30am. That was fine because there were plenty of live bands and beer to drink to keep my occupied...

ForkingTasty - BBQ Smoke Shack from Anthony Anello on Vimeo. It's not everyday I run into a bad meal but on this occasion I did. BBQ is one of the staples in my diet and I'll typically go with Jay on a Saturday afternoon for lunch but on this day I was solo. I had passed the BBQues Smoke Shack many time before and said "One day I have to try this place" Unfortunately that day came.

Aussie Coffee and Sandwiches

Named after a street in Melbourne Australia, Little Collins has hit midtown New York. Their known for their coffee but I went in for a sandwich. Im sure it's a great cup of joe but I just don't drink coffee. You should go and let me know how it is. Maybe I'll change my mind about coffee. Sandwiches are more my thing.

Hidden Gem

The Melt Shop is really hidden. If you're walking down a street or an avenue you won't see it. Your best bet is if you're coming out of the 6/E/M train on Lexington and there is a chance you could still may miss it. It is tucked away in the outside corner of the atrium on 53rd and Lexington. My co-workers have told me about it months ago but I couldn't find it until the other day. They do have another location that just opened on 26th st and 6th Ave. Probably much easier to find.

Memorial Day Fun

Most Memorial Days you want to get together with friends, family and BBQ. This year I was with some new friends and you know I had me some BBQ. The BBQ was not in a park or my friends backyard but at Greenwood Park, a beer garden in South Slope Brooklyn. But before we get to the food let me tell you about my day in Prospect Park.

BRGR Is Not A Txt Acronym

BRGR is a burger joint that has been popping up all around NYC. I just happen to work near BRGR and one day for lunch I headed out to fill my hunger. BRGR has the open viewable grill. That means when you go into BRGR you leave smelling like BRGR. All grass fed meat with a choice of bun, I went whole wheat, but they even have the Iceberg lettuce bun for you carb watchers or gluten free eaters...

Taco Bell - Doritos from Anthony Anello on Vimeo. Doritos Taco Bell has been a getting great reviews for a while now but I have never tried it. Taco Bell is not my choice typically for a quick snack or meal. They just came out with the Cool Ranch Taco so I figured I have to try this. Is it really that good? Check the the short video and you'll see.

Above Standard

A very good choice for a burger would be at Clarke Standard. One of the things that makes them a little different is the grilled buttered bun. I'm a huge fan of that and it is starting to catch on at other burger shops. The other great thing about Clarke Standard is around the block from my job. I have a feeling this will be on my list whenever I head out for lunch. This burger is in the same burger class as a Shake Shack burger. Clarke Standard use only 100% USDA verified, hormone and antibiotic free Natural Angus ground every day using a wide-gauge plate for a loose-textured patty and a juicier, more flavorful burger. Check out the juices for yourself.

The Big Game of the year was great. The first two quarters were dominated by the Ravens and we thought it was going to be a blow out. Beyonce performed the half time show and used so much power that in the beginning of the 3rd quester there was a Blackout. Thirty five minutes later the lights were back on and it was time for the 49ers to dominate. They came back to get with in one scoring drive. In the end the 49ers ran out of time and and the Ravens won. Final score...

Superfood Bowl

Sunday, February 3, 2013

This year the superbowl is at my cousins place and we are calling it the superfood bowel because there is going to be a ridiculous amount of eats. The above is the raw uncased sausage that is going to be in my Stromboli. Got up early to start the cooking. Smells great in the house. Hope is all works out. I already had a failed attempt at making fresh baked potato chips. I think it is just easier to buy a bag of some sort of kettle chip. The slaw came out great and I'm also going to attempt a marsala roll. To be continued after the superbowl....
