Zuni-San Francisco

While in San Fran a few weeks ago, my great friend Kelly and I decided to catch up over a delicious brunch at Zuni Cafe. We met later in the afternoon close to 3pm, clearly on the edge of the brunch time zone. The day was cloudless and the sun, big and bright. I arrived first and the large amount of glass windows allowed that sun to pour through the entire restaurant. I started in with a Bloody Maria as I…

New Yankee Stadium – and the FOOD from Anthony Anello on Vimeo.

Went to the New Yankee stadium for the 1st time with the Family. It is actually the 1st time we have done to a game as a family. Someone is usually missing. On my way in I met my cousin Chris who takes pictures for the Yankees during home games. We got to talking about the food and he said the best value in the stadium is the Lobels prime rib sandwich. Oh my, was he ever right. Not only did we get 2 prime rib sandwiches but we also chowed down on a pulled pork sandwich, foot long hotdog, sliders, 2 cheese steaks wiz w/, a bag of peanuts and some ice cream. The food is definitely an upgrade from the old Yankee stadium. This video explains it all…

Good Evening Thursday @ Bruno's

As you regular reader know, I was in San Francisco last week. It being one of my favorite eating cities in the world, I was excited for the opportunity to check out some of their underground food scene.

As I sat at a new swanky cocktail bar with my friend Biki the conversation turned to my Brooklyn dinners. She excitedly remembered that her friend Chris was running a bit of a fun eating experience in the mission. A quick email from her iPhone and we had a reservation for 9pm the next night…

I have lived in the same apartment in Manhattan for about 9 years and I have always wanted to go to this Indian restaurant called Vatan down the block from me. When you go you have to take off your sneakers to eat at the table, which is different and fun.

I got back from the ship in July and came home to a summons for Jury duty in my stack of mail. Oops! I called and they told me to come in Monday. This is a very long day of pure boredom, as most of you know who have gone through this process, and when we braked for lunch I thought I should treat myself.

Thanks to my friend Amit, I attended one of the Brasserie Supperclub

dinners. Located out in the sunset district we both made the trek out to this new Vegan dinner spot run by three ex-Vegan chefs looking to open their own restaurant. As many of you know I am not vegan, nor vegetarian by any stretch. In fact…

Marin, California

I had this plum on a recent hike into the Marin headlands. When I get a plum like this I freak out. I absolutely love it. To be honest, I usually wind up sucking on the pit for over an hour. Weird, dangerous and maybe a little gross but I can’t help myself. Why can’t they all be like that?
